Berginvest received the request to develop a blueprint for a
town centre at Harkstede, from the Slochteren town council.
The town council was of the opinion that the proximity of a
school could be an obstacle. Johan Fieten drew up a concept
where, beside an ‘urban’ village square, there would also be a
village green, including the school and a deer park. The care
apartments came into excellent contact with these.The town
square and green are meanwhile connected by means of a
nice tunnel.
