Designing a concept for 16 residential houses in your hometown
is a special challenge. Johan knew what he was getting into and
created a design where urban elements are interwoven with the
togetherness of a village community. In that he had to take into
account an existing pond and a street partly surrounding it.
The result consisted of 16 individual houses, connected by
means of a broad, urban-style façade. Residential houses for
individual families who feel connected as neighbours. The
houses were nominated for the Hoogeveen Architecture Prize.
